now at 11 -- we're following breaking news out of texas...where one person has school" -- that's southeast of el paso. police say the shooting happened this morning in the school's band hall. few details are being released at this hour. there are reports that say the shooter died from a self-inlicted gunshot wound. this is a developing story...stick with fox 6 news, on-air and online, for more updates. many communities in the milwaukee area are recovering this morning, after major flash flooding last night.

however, last night things turned dangerous very quickly in this area. late afternoon drivers were forced to fight the flooding as it came quickly -- the water rising fast on milwaukee's south side. neighbors here say this is the worst flooding this area has seen in years. many cars getting stuck as the roads became impassable. forv was an opportunity to get them out. marco sotos tow company like others; had a busy night of easy

in greenfield -- flooding closed part of the "root river parkway" near 96th street. and-- a bad night for one homeowner-- after a tree fell onto some vehicles in a driveway. there was also some damage to the home. saint john's lutheran school in mayville is closed today...due to rising waters. johns and parkview primary yesterday because of heavy rain. the principal at st. johns says within half an hour the water started running down the side of the school...so students were sent home. throughout the day, first responders and volunteers rushed to both schools to fill and pile sandbags to keep the oncoming water at bay. its my school. ive been here, all my life. i just wanted to help out. emergency landing at mitchell international airport. the flight took off around 6-50 this morning and was heading to minneapolis...when they reported a possible mechanical issue. the plane turned around and safely landed back in milwaukee just before seven-30. officials say

the victim in a shooting on milwaukee's north side. police say 24-year-old edward larson was shot and killed last night near 27th and hadley. officials say a 34-year-old was also injured and taken to the hospital. so far, no suspects are in custody. police continue to investigate. ..new details on the murder investigation in oconomowoc. 34-year-old christina schuster - was shot in the head in her apartment. her brother found her monday i schuster's car is missing-- and they're searching for a friend of hers that they consider a person of interest. investigators don't believe the public is at risk. the fence around sherman park will stay down....and a milwaukee county judge has extended a restraining order against sheriff david clarke. it all goes back to sunday. the county executive ordered the fence be taken down. but by the afternoon....the sheriff ordered it back up. that led to a rare sunday night court

"while she was on the phone with 911, the dispatcher heard about three gunshots and the call was ended." the shooting incident is also reportedly linked to several collisions involving four vehicles in the area.

parkview school, classrooms were emptied around one o'clock. students were taken to a park pavilion for parents to come pick them up. "i was actually monitoring it all day because when i picked her up from school we seen that the playground was flooded and then we heard on the news that the other roads were flooded in town so we were just keeping an eye on it and waiting for the email from the school.'" volunteers and first responders spent many hours filling and piling up sandbags in an effort to protect both schools fr water. and then flood waters kept nearly 20 kids and 3 staff members from leaving kindercare in west allis yesterday. the staff made dinner for the kids. the fire department eventually took everyone to a nearby church. kindercare is open today. there was also reports of water leaking into nathan hale high school in west allis. we're told it has been cleaned up...and that school is back in session
